Mid-size pure electric sedan duel VOYAH Chasing Light vs NIO ET7 How to choose?

NIO ET7 VS VOYAH Chasing Light price: same price, different configuration

NIO ET7 VS VOYAH Chasing Light price: same price, different configuration

With a budget of 500,000 yuan in hand, what are the good choices for buying a new energy car?

In fact, there are not many new energy sedans available at the 500,000 yuan price point in China, except for the already listed NIO ET7, Mercedes EQE and the soon to be listed VOYAH Chasing Light. The Mercedes-Benz EQE has the advantage in terms of brand power, but the product power is mediocre and not yet recognized by users, so the focus of choice is basically between the NIO ET7 and the Arashi Togokahn.

So, which one is more suitable to choose between VOYAH and ET7? I will compare these two models today.

First of all, in terms of price, the VOYAH Chasing Light is still in the pre-sale stage and will be available in three configurations, with an official pre-sale price range of 322,900 yuan- 432,900 yuan.

The NIO ET7 is also available in three configurations, with an official guide price range of 458,000 yuan-536,000 yuan, which is slightly more expensive than the VOYAH chasing light.

For a budget of less than 500,000 yuan, you can get the top-end long-range flagship version of the VOYAH Chasing Light, while the NIO ET7 is only available in the entry 75kWh version, so we will compare these two versions below.

Exterior: VOYAH Chasing lLght and NIO ET7 can be a close match

In terms of shape, the front of the VOYAH Chasing Light adopts the common closed grille design of pure electric vehicles, and the headlights are flat and blacked out, connected by the daytime running lights, effectively stretching the horizontal visual width of the front.

The bottom part of the vehicle adopts a trapezoidal air inlet design with a horizontal structure to decorate the front end.

The front of the ET7 is also designed with a closed grille, which is simple in style. The headlights are split, giving it a more personalized look.

The lower part of the grille is equipped with large trapezoidal air intakes, and the interior is also decorated with a horizontal structure, effectively increasing the sense of hierarchy of the front end.

As for the side shape, both of them choose the sliding back coupe shape, pop-up door handles and low wind resistance wheels are not absent, and the lines are smooth and atmospheric.

The rear of the car has a wide tail light cluster with a smoked black finish, which effectively stretches the width of the rear.

The black tail lights are also not absent. The license plate frame is located in the middle of the tailgate, and the lower surround is also equipped with a black trim panel, making the style more simple.

In terms of appearance alone, the VOYAH Light and the NIO ET7 are very similar, with a simple and sporty overall design.

In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the VOYAH chase are 5088/1970/1505mm, with a wheelbase of 3000mm; the length, width and height of the NIO ET7 are 5101/1987/1509mm, with a wheelbase of 3060mm; in comparison, the NIO ET7 has a slight advantage in terms of size, but both are positioned as medium to large sedans, and the overall size of the medium to large sedans are also among the The overall size is also among the best.

Interior: VOAYH Chasing Light has a stronger sense of technology, while the NIO ET7 is simple

In terms of the interior, the VOYAH Chasing Light adopts a family design style, offering a double-spoke flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, a through-the-line triple screen, a vehicle function control screen and a knob-type electronic gear knob, with a relatively simple overall style; the air conditioning vents adopt a through-the-line design, embellishing the hierarchy of the center console.

The interior of the ET7 is relatively simpler, offering a two-spoke flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, a suspended full LCD instrument panel, a large vertical layout center control screen and a paddle-type electronic gearshift.

In contrast, the interior of the VOYAH Chasing Light has a stronger sense of technology, while the center console of the NIO ET7 is more nerdy because of the presence of the NOMI assistant.

Since the body size of the two is relatively close, there is little difference in space performance, both are in the very ample category, and the rear floor is completely flat, so the comfort of passengers in the middle position is well taken care of.

In terms of configuration, the differences between the two models are not that great, with L2 level assisted driving, automatic parking, panoramic view, front and rear parking radar, air suspension, electric induction trunk, keyless entry, one-touch start, wireless charging of front cell phones, electric adjustment/heating/ventilation/massage of front seats, heating/ventilation/massage of second row seats, automatic windshield wipers, heat pump air conditioning and so on.

The advantage of the ET7 is that it offers electric suction doors, power-adjustable steering wheel, HUD head-up display, etc., while the advantage of the VOYAH Chasing Light is that it offers trailing reverse, magic carpet intelligent suspension, second row seat electric adjustment, Danner audio, etc. The two can be said to be slightly different; however, considering the slightly lower pricing of the VOYAH Chasing Light, the overall view of the VOYAH Chasing Light is still more generous in terms of configuration.

VOYAH Chasing Light power than NIO ET7

In terms of power, the flagship version of VOYAH Chasing Light Long Range is equipped with a 4WD system consisting of dual front and rear motors, with a combined maximum power of 375kW, peak torque of 730N-m, and acceleration time of 4.2 seconds per 100km; with a battery pack with a capacity of 108.73kWh, the CLTC service range is 730km, which is the longest 4WD pure electric sedan with CLTC range.

The NIO ET7 is equipped with the same dual front and rear motors, with a combined maximum power of 480kW, peak torque of 850N-m and a 100km acceleration time of 3.8 seconds; it is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 75kWh and has a CLTC range of 530km.

In comparison, the power parameters of Azure ET7 are stronger, so it has a small advantage in 100km acceleration, while the difference in acceleration time is only 0.4 seconds and the range is longer, which is good enough.

In my opinion, since the technology iteration of pure electric vehicles is relatively fast, the overall technical strength of VOYAH Chasing Light with the support of Arashihai Power + ESSA architecture is stronger than the NT2.0 platform of ET7, and the battery energy density of 212Wh/kg and the energy consumption of 15.8kWh per 100km are both stronger than that of NIO ET7, whose battery energy density is only 142.1Wh/kg. The latter's battery energy density is only 142.1Wh/kg and energy consumption reaches 16.2kWh per 100km.

In terms of the integration capability of the three electric systems, VOYAH offers a larger front compartment, while the NIO ET7 does not offer a front compartment, which means that VOYAH's three electric systems are smaller and more integrated.

With the 108.73kWh battery pack, the overall mass of the VOYAH Chasing Light is only 2286kg, while with the 75kWh battery pack, the overall mass of the NIO ET7 is 2349kg.

Through comparison, it is easy to find that both the VOYAH Chasing Light and the NIO ET7 are very powerful models, and are among the best Chinese brand new energy mid-size sedans, with excellent performance in terms of value, space, configuration and power, and are comparable.

However, the VOYAH Chasing Light is equipped with a larger capacity battery pack at a lower pricing, and has a clear advantage in terms of range, which is more generous from this aspect. With the backing of Dongfeng Group, VOYAH Chasing Light does have deeper accumulation in the three electric systems, which is also more obvious in terms of energy consumption.

Therefore, I think that in the price range of 500,000 yuan, VOYAH Chasing Light has a slight advantage over NIO ET7 in terms of product power, and is worth considering.
