When discussing low fuel consumption and no range anxiety, a special technology line must be inseparable, and it is the add-on program.

There has been much controversy in the industry about whether incremental electric technology is backward and should be eliminated.

And Huawei Yu Chengdong is also bullish on the extended-range program and pointed out, "It will take time for the current charging pile to be perfected and popularized, and the extended-range model is the most suitable new energy vehicle model at present."

Of course, there are those who have a different attitude.

VW China CEO Sihan Feng said, "The extended program electric vehicle is not as environmentally friendly as one might think, and from the perspective of the entire country and the planet, burning fossil fuels to generate electricity for the car's powertrain is a "bad solution"." Li Ruifeng, CEO of Great Wall Wei brand, even said in several posts on social media platforms that "it is an industry consensus that the technology of extended program hybrid is backward, and that extended program EV is a lower threshold and outdated technology and pointed out that the essence of the extended program is a tandem plug-in hybrid.

Who is better, the plug-in hybrid or the extended electric?

First of all, there are two modes of operation: pure electric and tandem, in which the engine drives the generator to generate electricity and then drives the wheels in tandem. Because of the structural limitations, the engine of the program can not directly drive the wheels, which wastes the power of the engine, and the efficiency of high-speed cruising conditions "first generate electricity and then drive with electricity" is not as high as the engine direct drive.
