The same price, Latte DHT-PHEV and BYD Tang DM-i, who is more worth buying?

Cost of use Latte DHT-PHEV is better than Tang DM-i

Chinese hybrid models this year has been the topic of constant, there is a fight who is ahead or behind the technology, there is a fight who is more worth buying, we expect most consumers to 200,000 yuan out of this price point as the standard, found to be able to choose two cars, respectively, from Wei brand latte DHT-PHEV (2022 models 1.5T two-wheel drive large cup, the official guide price: 229,000 yuan) and BYD Tang DM (Photo|Configuration|Inquiry)-i (112km Premium, official guide price 222,800 yuan ), the difference between the two cars is controlled within 10,000 yuan, so who is more worth buying?

Cost of use Latte DHT-PHEV is better than Tang DM-i

The powertrain of the DHT-PHEV is a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and a single motor with a 2-speed DHT transmission. The maximum power of this powertrain is 240kW and the peak torque is 530N-m. The capacity of the battery pack is 34kW-h and the WLTC electric range is 184km.

The powertrain of Tang DM-i is also 1.5T engine transmission and single motor, the difference is that the transmission is traditional E-CVT transmission. The battery pack capacity of BYD Tang DM-i is 21.5kW-h, and the NEDC pure electric range is 112km.

The WLTC range of Latte DHT-PHEV is 184km, and those who know about electric vehicles know that WLTC test conditions are more realistic and closer to the real use, so the pure electric driving range of Latte DHT-PHEV is relatively outstanding, 184km can completely cover daily commuting use, and can also be supported for occasional short trips, so theoretically Latte DHT -PHEV can be used as a pure electric model, and has a great advantage in daily use expenses.

The NEDC range of the Tang DM-i is 112km, which is obviously inferior to that of the Latte. If the daily commute is controlled within 100km, it can be used, but if it exceeds that, it needs to be used in hybrid mode, although you can also use it as a pure tram, but the cost of use is definitely inferior to that of the Latte DHT-PHEV.

Also as an electric car, Latte DHT-PHEV has advantages in intelligence

Intelligent comparison mainly depends on two aspects, the cockpit and assisted driving. The latte adopts the current very popular double-spoke steering wheel design and multi-screen interaction, of which the full LCD instrumentation is 9.2 inches, the central suspension screen is 14.6 inches, the air conditioning panel below is 9 inches, and the fourth screen is the HUD head-up display, which can display very much driving information. The two cars are basically the same in terms of functionality, but the difference is in the chip, the latte DHT-PHEV uses the mainstream 8155 chip, so it has an advantage in the smooth operation.

In addition, Latte DHT-PHEV comes with many hidden functions, such as face recognition and rear vitals monitoring. These are not available in Tang DM-i.

In terms of assisted driving, Latte DHT-PHEV is equipped with 27 ultra-high precision detection devices, mainly containing 6 millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 9 cameras, capable of achieving a detection range of 210m in front, 110m in the back and 4.5m in the left and right, forming a hard-core 360-degree panoramic sensing system. Relying on these hardware, HWA highway intelligent driving assistance can realize intelligent cruise control from 40-120km/h, toggle lane change, automatic overtaking, lane centering and other functions. Tang DM-i also comes with assisted driving configuration, but to achieve such rich functions, only the full top model is available, which is less cost-effective.

Summary

In terms of consumer demand, one of the most important requirements for buying a hybrid model is to save fuel and have low cost of use, so if you take this as a measure, the Latte DHT-PHEV has more advantages, with a larger battery capacity and longer pure electric range, and with the support of the 2-speed DHT transmission, its high-speed fuel economy is also guaranteed, so it is definitely more economical to use. Secondly, in terms of intelligence, the Latte DHT-PHEV wins because it was launched later and is more up-to-date in terms of technical hardware, so the experience is naturally more outstanding than the Tang DM-i.

According to the November SUV sales list of E-Car, BYD Tang ranked 4th with 19,688 units sold, while Latte DHT-PHEV ranked 104th with 1,745 units sold.
