With 500,000 yuan in hand to buy a pure electric SUV, do you choose the IM LS7, or the NIO ES7?

Both are SUVs, the exterior of both cars have merit

I don't know if you've noticed, since the birth of the new forces, the price threshold of domestic new energy cars has started to go up, and more and more cars dare to sell for 400,000 to 500,000 yuan. Of course, if you dare to set the price at 400,000 yuan to 500,000 yuan, it's false to say that you don't have the strength, just like the IM LS7 and the NIO ES7, both of them have something different. But the question is, under the price threshold, who is stronger and more worth buying?

The two models are the IM LS7 2023 100kWh 4WD version and the ES7 2022 100kWh, both of which are priced in the 500,000 yuan  range and are high end models of the IM LS7 and NIO ES7.

Both are SUVs, the exterior of both cars have merit

The IM LS7 uses the same family design as the IM L7 and has a strong sporting atmosphere. The NIO ES7 uses the latest design language of the NIO brand, and the whole is young and sporty enough. In the front area, both SUVs have the mainstream closed front look and are angular, but the IM LS7 looks sharper, mainly from the sharp headlights on both sides and the L-shaped light strips on the surrounds. The NIO ES7, on the other hand, looks relatively fuller, with split headlights and a thick front surround that looks somewhat more stable.

Both SUVs also have a beautiful stance on the side, with trendy designs like hidden door handles appearing on both SUVs, but the IM LS7 is also equipped with frameless doors that are more eye-catching when opened. The IM LS7's waistline is relatively straight, with an upward curve under the doors, while the ES7 has a segmented body line and a good sense of movement with the color blocking body.

The rear end is quite different. Both cars have running tail lights, but the tail lights of the IM LS7 are integrated in the ducktail part of the coupe, while the NIO ES7 splits the rear end in two in the center of the rear. The roof of the IM LS7 also has a hollowed-out spoiler design, which, together with the sharp rear surround, gives the car a stronger overall sense of movement. The NIO ES7, on the other hand, is a traditional family SUV design, with a wide surround and an arched design roof spoiler to give the whole rear end a more subdued look.

IM LS7 interior is more shocking than NIO ES7

Sitting inside the car, the first time I saw the interior of the LS7 was still quite shocking, the design of the large joint screen seems to be quite common nowadays, and there is also support for lifting, but there are really not many cars that use a half-spoke steering wheel, and the IM LS7 should be the first domestic new energy vehicle. In addition to these two items, the front glass of the IM LS7 is also very interesting, extending directly from the front hatch to the top of the driver's head, so the whole visual is quite wide after sitting in the car.

The interior of the NIO ES7 has a minimalist design concept, with no physical buttons to be seen inside the car, and the car's functions are basically controlled by voice or by touch control through the center screen. The interior of the NIO ES7 is very simple in design, with no physical buttons to be seen.

The intelligent performance of the vehicle, IM LS7 in front of the T area also retains the central control screen, the vehicle function adjustment and multimedia control can be carried out in this screen, to a certain extent to facilitate the operation of the owner. In terms of smoothness, both the IM LS7 and the NIO ES7 perform well, belonging to the current mainstream level and in line with most people's car habits, except that the IM LS7 has more screens and better connectivity.

The seating part of the IM LS7 and the NIO ES7 are both 2+3 five-seat layout, belonging to the large five-seat SUV, so they have similarities in design, but the focus of the two SUVs is slightly different. The IM LS7 is wrapped in semi-aniline leather and has a separate seat on the right side of the second row, which is connected to the passenger seat by an electric rail with a length of 1,955 mm. when needed, the front passenger seat can be fully folded and slid forward, allowing the right rear seat to achieve a zero-gravity ride of 121°.

In addition, thanks to the 1,955mm power rail, the right rear seat can be slid forward and the backrest can be adjusted to its maximum angle. At this time, the passenger seat can be used as a footstool, and the right rear seat is also adjusted to 155 ° large reclining comfort mode, such a design in the same class and price range, or quite rare.

The seats in the NIO ES7 are wrapped in Nappa leather, and the front two seats are electrically adjustable in 14 directions and have heating, ventilation and massage functions. The second row of seats is not independent like the IM LS7, but has a traditional layout, but the rear row is also heated and supports 6 electric adjustments, with a backrest angle range of 23°-31°.

At the same time, the "Queen's Co-Driver" is also available on the NIO ES7. In fact, this passenger seat is not too different from the normal seat, except that it also has legrest and lumbar adjustment functions, and its comfort performance is really better than the normal seat.

As for the driving space, they all belong to the large five-seat layout, and their performance is not bad. In terms of body dimensions, the IM LS7's length, width and height of 5049x2002x1773mm and wheelbase of 3060mm are better than the NIO ES7's length, width and height of 4912x1987x1720mm and wheelbase of 2960mm. Therefore, from the point of view of parameters, IM LS7 still has some advantages.

ES7 power is better than IM LS7

In terms of performance and driving control, the IM LS7 is equipped with two front and rear motors, the front motor has 175kW and 250N-m and the rear motor has 250kW and 475N-m. The total power of the two motors is 425kW and the total torque is 725N-m. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 4.5 seconds. The NIO ES7 is also equipped with dual front and rear motors, the front motor has 180kW and 350N-m, the rear motor has 300kW and 500N-m, the two motors have a total power of 480kW and a total torque of 850N-m, the parameters are better than those of the Smart LS7, its official 0-100km/h acceleration time is also faster at 3.9 seconds.

The battery capacity of both the IM LS7 and the NIO ES7 is 100kWh, and the range of the IM LS7 is 625km, while that of the ES7 is 620km, according to official data.

Comparison Summary.

In terms of the several aspects of this article's comparison, the IM LS7 and the NIO ES7 showcase their unique sides. The IM LS7 clearly has more to say about design, with a half-spoke steering wheel, lift-up screen and oversized front dome glass being highlights. At the same time, it is also slightly more comfortable thanks to its larger body size and zero-gravity seats. As for the NIO ES7, as the "big brother" of the new car maker, it has certain advantages in brand power, and its acceleration performance is better than that of the IM LS7.
