The ID.4 forward gear is divided into D and B. D is the feeling of the forward gear of the gas car, and B is the so-called single-pedal mode. However, the kinetic energy recovery strength of ID.4 is more comfortable, not so strong dragging feeling. After releasing the accelerator in D, the feeling of the vehicle coasting is very similar to that of a gas car coasting, and the coasting distance is also very long. For drivers who have switched from a gas car to a tram, they will be very used to this feeling. The first half of the brake pedal will not be particularly strong, so if you need to brake in an emergency, it is recommended to press the brake pedal deeper.

Although the ID.4 is an SUV, it is very agile in terms of handling. Thanks to VW's MEB pure electric platform, the ID.4 has shorter front and rear overhangs, and the vehicle has a large steering angle at the front wheels. Especially worth mentioning is that the turning radius of ID.4 is only 4.85m, which should be comparable to many small cars, turning around and parking will be particularly comfortable.

In addition, I think one of the more practical features is lane keeping, after the function is turned on, the vehicle will drive in the identified line, the vehicle will automatically correct when deviation occurs, so that the vehicle remains in the lane centered exercise, long time driving sometimes inevitably fatigue or briefly distracted, at this time it is necessary to assist the driver to help maintain a safe state.

  • Range performance: When it comes to the good and bad of electric cars, range is definitely a key factor to consider. When I was considering buying an electric car, the first thing I considered was the battery and range. At the end of last year, when I saw the ID.4 CROZZ debut, the manufacturer announced that the ID.4 debut version was equipped with a large battery of 84.8 degrees, and the working range was 550KM, I decided to buy the car. After all, the size of the battery directly determines the range, more than 80 degrees of battery with VW's efficient BMS system and motor efficiency, the actual range is certainly not bad.

I have driven the car for more than 7,000 km since I picked it up and I can say that I am satisfied with the range of the ID.4. This 7000 km includes city commuting, suburban mountain roads and long-distance driving on highways. Up to now, after experiencing Beijing's spring, summer, autumn and winter, the current average energy consumption is 17 degrees per 100 km, and it is usually in D comfort mode.

The working range is only a reference value, and the actual range will be affected by the weather conditions, road conditions and driving habits of the car, etc. Here are some of my own range data from actual driving.

In early June, I received an invitation from VW North China to participate in the ID.4 self-driving experience from Beijing to Qinhuangdao Anaya in Hebei. The first time I drove the ID.4 for a long distance, I was a little worried about the range, and the trip was a cool morning with no air conditioning and D-position comfort mode for 320km. The air conditioner was set at 24 degrees with a mid-range air volume and D gear in comfort mode. After driving continuously for more than 2 hours and 223km from the hotel, it entered a service station. The statistics at that time, the average speed of 87km/h (there are a few kilometers of city roads before the highway), electricity consumption is 16.7 degrees per hundred kilometers, power consumption is 48%.

After that trip back from a long drive on the highway, the heart of the ID.4 range will have a bottom, the range is absolutely solid.

After Beijing enters the winter, in the cold state, especially when the temperature is below zero after starting the vehicle in order to let the battery as soon as possible to reach the ideal working condition, the vehicle will be rapid heating of the battery pack, this process will consume some power, in addition to the air conditioning warm air is not particularly power hungry, and ID.4 medium and high models equipped with a heated steering wheel and seat heating in the winter is particularly fragrant, these two functions are used After that, now the car warm air I basically set at 19-20 degrees, it is very comfortable. The energy consumption for normal city driving at this setting is basically 20-21 degrees per 100 km. I am still satisfied with the winter range performance of ID.4.

With the improvement of market reputation, the sales of ID.4 are also steadily increasing, and I can basically see a few cars on the streets of Beijing every day. I also believe that the ID.4 will become a classic model for VW with its excellent performance.
