BYD low-cost mobility SUV, only 137,800RMB from, 7.3 seconds to break 100, Yuan PLUS is worth choosing?

In the current era of the new energy all-out attack, when talking about BYD, we usually think of three cars, one is the largest volume of BYD Song, a representative of the C-class flagship BYD Han, and one is to enter the high-end coupe market BYD Seal, these three cars in their respective markets is the scenery is unlimited. However, we forgot the lowest priced SUV model in the BYD lineup - BYD Yuan PLUS.

With the PLUS nameplate on the Yuan PLUS, it has jumped out of the small SUV market where the former Yuan and Yuan Pro were located and into the compact market. But according to the threshold of 137,800 yuan, it is still only less than 5,000 yuan higher than the newly arrived third-generation Honda XR-V. In terms of the purchase cost, the Yuan PLUS, which does not need to pay purchase tax, is actually quite cheap.

Yuan PLUS appearance inherited the new generation of Dragon Face design language, connected between the headlights with the metal plate with the book logo, through the decorative finish left and right through the channel of the inflow hole, and the full English SLOGON tail logo and the corresponding through the tail light belt, etc., are its signature design, and are the highlights of this generation of BYD. Of course, the 4455/1875/1615mm length, width and height and 2720mm wheelbase will reflect the space capacity of the vehicle to a certain extent.

Within the cockpit, each Yuan PLUS will have a 5.0-inch full LCD instrument cluster. Although it will not be obscured by the wind dial, and the vehicle condition information is rich, the graphics and text display is still somewhat small. The central control provides two sizes of 12.8-inch or 15.6-inch touch screen to match different configurations, they can all achieve adaptive rotation, equipped with DiLink system with 4G network support, and support for Gold navigation, intelligent voice, remote car control and other functions, and the difference between the low and high is only that the latter's voice can cover more accessories or functions such as sunroof.

Assisted driving, Yuan PLUS can not realize the complete DiPilot with the corresponding high-level intelligent driving functions, but the high top model can still realize the L2 level of assisted driving through the combination of perception hardware consisting of 6 cameras + 5 ultrasonic radar + 3 millimeter wave radar, which will be extended with full panoramic and full-speed adaptive cruise on the basis of the standard reversing camera + fixed speed cruise + remote parking, the former also comes with the car side blind zone warning at the same time, and the latter will be assisted by the front and rear collision warning.

Other configurations, we can see that each Yuan PLUS is also adapted to leather-covered sports-style seats, which have a better side support package, but whether it is low or top, it only supports electric height adjustment for the main driver, and features like heating/ventilation are not available.

But the heat pump air conditioning is a feature that needs to be singled out for praise, as its independent operation and heating method will greatly reduce the additional battery loss due to air conditioning in winter and summer, thus giving up all the battery energy to the vehicle's range. In addition, young people can also get a standard wireless charging pad in the cabin, but the sunroof, which affects cabin feedback, is only available on the two flagship models.

BYD offers a powertrain and two battery packs for the Yuan PLUS, of which the front electric motor will bring 150kW of maximum power and 310N-m of maximum torque, converting to 204Ps, which is already equivalent to a 2.0T low-power engine in the market. The single-speed transmission mechanism, which does not require gear shifting, will allow it to better deliver instantaneous bursts of power. As for the battery, two sets of blade batteries with different capacities can bring 430km or 510km CLTC range, and the whole system supports 0.5 hours fast charging, except that the 430km range version can only achieve 70% fast charging, and there is room for further optimization in charging efficiency.

There are no surprises in the chassis of Yuan PLUS, the front McPherson will still play with the rear multi-link, but this is already a common configuration for SUVs in this class, of course, compared to its predecessor, such a four-wheel solo suspension will still bring double optimization in terms of support and comfort.

In just the past 09 months, BYD topped the new energy market with sales of over 200,000 units, and not surprisingly, it will also take the single-month brand championship in the entire narrow passenger car, of which the Yuan family contributed 23,500 units. In terms of the Yuan family's performance over the past period of time, Yuan PLUS will still account for more than 70% of them, and in the first 8 months, Yuan PLUS has sold nearly 90,000 units, becoming the runner-up in the entry compact SUV (4.4m class) market, and according to such a trend development, it is probably only a matter of time before it surpasses the top of the prowler.. Although there are still many flaws in the product power of Yuan PLUS, it is still quite suitable to get it as a family car.
