Super hybrid support, NEDC comprehensive fuel consumption 1.2L/100km, interpretation of Qin PLUS DM-i

In the past, when it comes to hybrid technology, most people first think of TOYOTA and HONDA's hybrid technology. The DM-i technology of BYD is a "dark horse", and the Qin PLUS DM-i, which is equipped with this super hybrid system, has gained a high degree of popularity since it was launched, so can the birth of this technology break people's inertia?

Qin PLUS DM-i is a BYD model with its own super hybrid technology (DM-i) listed in March 2021, positioned as a compact car with an official guide price of 111.8-16.58 million. In this issue, I will take the Qin PLUS DM-i 2021 DM-i 55KM flagship model (guide price 125,800) as the blueprint to see how its product power.

First of all, the front of the car is still a continuation of the family design, a "big mouth" center mesh size is relatively large, and the two sides of the LED using the arrow feather design, lit up look sharp and quite recognizable. In the middle of the headlights is a wide silver chrome trim with the word Qin printed in the middle, which looks more visually appealing. In addition, the headlights support height adjustment and delayed closing, and the mirrors support electric folding and heating functions.

The side of the car is not too fancy, but the body size of 4765/1837/1495mm, the wheelbase of 2718mm, plus the rear of the car's sliding back shape makes the whole site look more simple atmosphere. The wheels are 17-inch petal-style aluminum alloy wheels, the tire brand is Atlas, the brand's tires are relatively good handling, in the dry and wet also have a relatively good braking performance, but the price is more expensive, not particularly high-cost performance.

In the rear part of the car, the design is also relatively simple, the use of the LED taillights, taillights above the words "BUILD YOUR DREAMS" (achievement of your dreams) also shows BYD's endless exploration of car-making technology.

Entering the car, the dark interior design is relatively calm, and the steering wheel adopts a three-spoke multifunctional leather steering wheel and supports four-way adjustment. The 10.1-inch center screen in the middle supports electric rotation, which is quite interesting, and the DLink system is smooth and easy to use.

The car comes standard with more practical functions such as Telematics, OTA upgrade, Wi-Fi hotspot, and voice recognition control system. Fixed-speed cruise control, tire pressure display, and backup camera are also equipped, but more advanced auxiliary functions and active and passive safety systems will have to be equipped in higher versions of the car.

The seats are sports-style faux leather seats, and the main seat supports six-way power adjustment, while the passenger seat only supports four-way manual adjustment. The front row space performance is fair, 173cm of the author sat in the front row after adjusting the sitting position, there is more than a fist of space above the head, and the back row after the seat also has more than a fist of space, the knee area has two fist space, such space performance a compact car is still relatively good. Although the trunk space is relatively large, the opening is a bit small, and the larger size of the luggage may be more difficult to put away.

The car adopts a load-bearing body structure, with MacPherson independent suspension in the front and longitudinal arm torsion beam non-independent suspension in the back, and front-drive, the whole chassis is relatively dense and tight, the suspension tuning is a bit on the hard side, the sportiness is good, but the vibration filtration on bumpy roads is relatively general.

The power section is a major feature of the car, consisting of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and a permanent magnet/synchronous motor power combination. The engine has a maximum horsepower of 110Ps, a maximum torque of 135N-m, and a maximum power of 81kW, while the motor has a maximum horsepower of 180Ps, a maximum torque of 316N-m, and a maximum power of 132kW. These configurations, supported by the DM-i technology, enable the car to achieve an NEDC combined fuel consumption of 1.2L/100km, and a full charge and full fuel state enable the car to last more than 1200km.

Summary: I feel that the car has no obvious shortcomings in all aspects, I feel that the multimedia functions and active and passive safety features are slightly weaker, the shape is also more sporty and stylish, space is also more than enough, the car is better in DM-i technology, whether it is power, fuel consumption, or range, so the car's price of 125,800 can make you change your mind about domestic hybrid models?
