Better than the 3 Series! This purely imported mid-size sedan chassis handling absolute!

GENESIS is a high-end brand of Hyundai Group, and currently it is sold in China by pure import direct sales.

"First-class chassis handling" is the evaluation given by many people after driving the GENESIS G70, including me.

The G70 has a very high turnaround rate on the street, especially in red, and the first thing that comes to your mind when it passes in the rearview mirror is "What is this car? The designer of the G70 previously worked for Bentley, so it's not surprising that it looks quite expensive.

The G70 does not have an extended version, its body length/width/height is 4700/1850/1400mm, wheelbase 2835mm, the figure is similar to the standard axle BMW 3 series. The test car in the picture is the top model - the 4WD flagship model with a guide price of 336,800 yuan, and it also comes with a 25,500 yuan sports package (the price of the rear-drive version package is 29,300 yuan).

The package includes an electronically controlled variable suspension, four-wheel Brembo brakes, 18-inch brake discs, 19-inch wheels (with Michelin PS4 tires), a sport exterior package, NAPPA leather seats, and a tumbled leather interior. If you buy the rear-wheel drive version, then it will also include a rear-wheel mechanic limited-slip differential. I personally think this package is a great value for the money and is almost a must-have.

Lifting the hood of the G70 you will feel slightly empty, this is because its North American version has to stuff a 3.3T V6 engine, while the G70 sold in China are equipped with Hyundai's own 2.0T + 8AT powertrain. The engine has a maximum power of 245 hp and a maximum torque of 353 Nm.

Power parameters are indeed beautiful, but the actual power performance is not as strong as imagined, the overall performance is slightly inferior to the current BMW 325, and so is the shift performance of the 8AT. But when it comes to chassis handling, the current 3 Series really has to stand aside.

The G70's steering is quite precise and has a small steering ratio, which I think can be called the best steering in its class along with the Alfa Romeo Giulia. The G70's body response is also very good, the rear end is crisp and sharp when cornering, the whole car is the feeling of where to hit.

When it comes to the interior, the G70 may seem plain compared to its BBA counterpart, and the richness and ease of use of the car's computer system is almost meaningful, but the details of workmanship and materials are very good.

It is worth mentioning that the G70 retains more physical buttons, which are very convenient when adjusting the air conditioning and seat ventilation/heating, and the middle area, including the center screen, is slightly to the driver's side.

The front seats of the G70 can be adjusted low enough, which is loved by veteran drivers, and the ergonomics and softness of the seats can't be faulted. However, the rear space is a bit less than the standard axle version of the "34C" in the same class, so if you insist on a large rear row, it may not satisfy you.

All in all, the G70 is a very driver-friendly car. If I were buying it, I'd go for the lowest rear-wheel-drive luxury version (250,800 yuan) and add the 29,300 yuan option package, which would land me at around 300,000 yuan for the best handling in its class and price range.
