In the past, we have the impression that the most important thing about a car is the three mechanical parts, but with the wave of intelligence and electrification, a car's playability and intelligent performance are also increasingly important to consumers.
The new third-generation RX5 features an innovative design in terms of emotional interaction cabin and intelligent technology, equipped with the world's first panoramic borderless sliding screen, borderless free interaction system, intelligent tide play assistant, etc., which can be said to bring intelligence to a new height. In addition, we also learned that on June 11, the new third-generation RX5 will officially open blind orders.
Specifically, the new third-generation RX5 brings a new "emotional interaction cabin" with the concept of "giving space to emotion and technology to humanity". The most eye-catching feature inside the cabin is the world's first 27-inch panoramic borderless sliding screen on the center console, which breaks the boundary between the dashboard and the center console and allows for 300mm of space to move around. When the driver starts the vehicle, the screen can slide to the passenger side and adjust the destination before sliding to the driver's side, which is very user-friendly.
After adjusting the 27-inch panoramic borderless sliding screen to the passenger seat, the passenger occupants can also experience the "exclusive audio and video entertainment space" in the car and feel the diverse intelligent cabin experience. The background of the new car interface is the navigation map by default, and the applications that can be opened are shown by card driving, which looks more intuitive and clear. The system also supports simultaneous operation of the main and passenger seats, to meet the needs of all passengers in the car as far as possible. The vehicle is also equipped with 4K ultra-clear Local Dimming display technology, as well as the entire vehicle BOSE audio, visually and aurally bringing a significant improvement to the comfort of the entire vehicle.
At the same time, the new third-generation RX5 also features the industry's first intelligent tide play assistant, a new voice assistant - the Little Lion King and 12 zodiac signs of the Chinese zodiac of your choice, combining folk culture with the popular tide play culture, adding a touch of vivid aura to the screen.
For intelligent driving, the new third-generation RX5 adopts a multi-sensor fusion solution with an 8-megaPIXEL front-facing ultra-high-definition camera, plus 28 sensors including a centimeter-level high-precision positioning module, three millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, five 2-megaPIXEL 100° perimeter cameras, four 360° surround-view cameras, and other sensors with 360° full-coverage high-precision perception Positioning capability, and the use of three Horizon self-developed high-performance AI chip. It enables the vehicle to achieve intelligent navigation-assisted driving from point A to point B based on the navigation route set by the user, which not only covers a variety of road conditions such as highways and urban expressways but also automatically switches lanes and autonomously gets on and off the ramp.
The new car adopts a new emotional rhythm design concept, which officially states that the "emotional rhythm design" starts from cultural roots and captures the daily emotions of Chinese people. Some Chinese elements can be seen in the new third-generation RX5, but they are presented in a more modern and avant-garde form, stepping away from the traditional Chinese elements of solidified thinking. The large "phoenix feather grille" on the front is inspired by the moment the phoenix spreads its wings, and the grille is scattered in an X-shape in all directions, with chrome-plated trim applied in a parametric design that has a strong visual impact.
In terms of body size, the new third-generation RX5 also features a wide-body design with a width of 1890mm and a wheelbase of 2765mm, giving the new car a more spacious interior performance. The new RX5 is available in five colors: Velvet Silver, Arctic Blue, Pearl Black, Pearl White, and Cloud Grey, providing consumers with a wide range of choices.
In terms of power, the new third-generation RX5 will be available in two different powertrains: a model with SAIC's own Blue Core 1.5T engine and a hybrid version consisting of the GS61 1.5T supercharged direct-injection engine + Super Electric Drive EDU G2 Plus. The 1.5T model has a maximum output of 188 hp and a peak torque of 300 Nm, and the engine has made great efforts in fuel optimization, gas exchange, thermal management, friction reduction, and silent technology to bring a better driving experience. eRX5 is equipped with a hybrid system with a maximum output of 432 hp and a peak torque of 570 Nm, which is comparable to a 3.0T engine.
