0.15 seconds fast start dual-engine hybrid is the right time to test-drive MACH hybrid first SUV Haoji

When it comes to hybrids, the most common thing that comes to mind is Toyota's Twin Engine and Honda Hybrid, and indeed in the past, if we wanted to buy a hybrid model, we could only look to joint venture brands. However, with the development of our domestic new energy field, we can choose the hybrid models of independent brands are becoming more and more abundant, BYD, Changan, Chery, and Great Wall Motor have launched hybrid products, and NISSAN Fengshen also sat down, launched the MACH Twin Engine MHD hybrid technology, and we test-drive the Haoji (is the first SUV equipped with this set of power models. Perhaps you are still a bit unfamiliar with this car, after all, it was just released shortly after the Haoji also did not have too much publicity, its strength is actually how? This time I will reveal to you through this test drive experience.

The Haoji is the first SUV model based on the DSMA advanced modular architecture platform of NISSAN Group, offering fuel and hybrid versions for consumers to choose from, and since the blind order was opened on May 21, the reservation orders have broken 10,000 units so far. It is understood that the Haoji is expected to be officially opened for pre-sale this month and listed in August, with an expected price range of 100,000-150,000 yuan.

The "Wind Trace" exterior design with Aurora green color scheme is like a fresh breeze in summer

In addition to the hybrid system, the most obvious advantage of this car is the large space. Although it is positioned as a compact SUV, the wheelbase reaches 2825mm, which is a proper medium-sized SUV level. If you are not clear about this concept, you should understand what level the Haoji is when you compare it with the 2850mm wheelbase of the Highlander. Just from the visual effect, the Haoji is also very imposing, because it not only has a long wheelbase but also a very wide body, giving people a feeling of strength and power. With the front grille design, the visual effect is very impressive. The front grille of the Haoji is called "storm surge" because it is a straight waterfall grille that resembles the traces left by the wind and sand erosion on the Gobi, creating a sense of natural beauty, with a large number of painted materials also looks more sporty and stylish.

Through the middle of the LED light belt can be luminous NISSAN Feng Shen LOGO design, and both sides of the light belt are also integrated into the flowing style of the light language function, while the headlights are split design arranged on the lower sides of the front face.

Coming to the side of the car, if compared with the traditional compact SUV, you can feel the "sense of oppression" brought by the size of the Haoji, especially with the high waistline design, making the body look more powerful. With the suspension roof and yacht-style D-pillar shape, plus the black wheel brow decoration, the overall visual feeling of the previous products of Fengshen brand in the sporty atmosphere and a sense of premium have significantly improved, the two-color body design also creates the visual effect of a separate cabin. The test car we got this time is painted in Aurora Green, which I think is the most "bright" paint. In addition, the Haoji is also available in Ceramic White, Duan Yan Black, Shen Mo Blue, and Xinghe Grey.

The tires are equipped with Pirelli's Scorpion tires with the specification of 235/50 R19, which are mostly installed on some high-end models of joint venture brands and have excellent performance in terms of sports performance, comfort and quietness, wear-resistance and safety factor, and are a relatively comprehensive tire.

Compared with the side and front of the car, the rear of the Haoji is not too prominent a highlight, more towards simplicity. The running tail light cluster echoes the design of the headlights. To enhance the sporty atmosphere and youthfulness of the vehicle, a spoiler is designed at the top of the rear and a hidden design is used under the rear to enhance the overall sense of the rear. It is worth mentioning that the fuel version will adopt a bilateral single-exit exhaust design, which will enhance the sporty atmosphere to a certain extent. Overall, the exterior design of the Haoji is very much in line with the standards of today's youth, simple yet uncomplicated, sporty but not flashy. At least from my point of view, the Haoji should be one of the products with the strongest design sense under NISSAN Fengshen, and every detail of the body can make me taste it carefully.

Buy the car and send "Hao sister", the rear space is comparable to a mid-level SUV

When I entered the car, I questioned the news that the price range is expected to be 100,000-150,000 yuan. The design and materials used in the car are excellent, and the entire center console is covered with soft leather, which has surpassed most domestic independent brand models just from the feel. The center console adopts an asymmetrical hug design, officially called the "Blast Around Hugging Cockpit", with the center console tilted to the driver's side, providing a relatively better view of the main driver and ergonomic design. The dual-linked screen design is also very interesting, as it does not adopt the popular hovering shape, but an inline design, as if it is buried in a sand dune.

The size of both the full LCD instrument panel and the center screen is 12.3 inches, and the screen has good clarity and is responsive enough, and the operating feel is not up to the level of the current domestic first tier, but it is a good performance in the hybrid model that has little room for choice. The screen is built with the latest WindLink OS car system, which has a wealth of localized applications for consumers to use, such as Aiki, Singing Bar, Baidu Maps, etc., and even the ability to brush short videos.

It can help you to control music playback, control air conditioning, open and close windows, etc. It can also choose different images according to your preference. The vehicle is also equipped with a quasi-L3 level autonomous driving function, but we were unable to experience this function in depth because we were on a test drive.

Coming to the back row, the 2825mm wheelbase also brings a considerable advantage to the rear space of the Haoji. Take me as an example, my height is 176cm, after adjusting the proper sitting position in the front row, there are still 2 fists of legroom in the second row, and a full fist of headroom, with 10 levels of backrest adjustment and 1.17 square meters of the largest panoramic canopy in its class, bringing a good riding experience in the back row.

MACH Twin Engine MHD Hybrid System 32 power combinations

The Haoji powertrain is equipped with the MACH Twin Engine MHD hybrid system, a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor that has a combined power of 180 kW and a combined torque of 540 Nm, such data is already very close to a 3.0T engine. NISSAN Fengshen Haoji also provides power customization 8-speed adjustment, steering effort 2-speed adjustable, the future will also join 2-speed adjustable suspension soft and hard, so the driver can achieve 32 different matching driving modes matching.

Thanks to the electric drive at low speeds, the Haoji hybrid has a 0.15-second starting response. When the gas pedal is depressed, the power is first fed back to the foot, making the response instantaneous and on-demand. Although the response will be fast, this set of power does not bring me a particularly sharp acceleration feeling at the start, and the physical sensation is still on the linear side. Once the speed reaches 30km/h or more, both the engine and the motor intervene at the same time, and only then can I feel the power output of this set of power.

The MACH Twin Engine MHD hybrid system equipped with the Haoji Hybrid uses a parallel shaft motor layout, which makes it easier to achieve a 50:50 body weight ratio compared to traditional hybrid systems, and provides a significant improvement in the handling experience. The electric motor and generator are laid out in parallel, with the pure electric drive during normal start and congestion follow, and series mode when starting at high throttle and battery power is low, and the vehicle will also adjust the drive mode by itself after the speed is increased according to the actual operation of the driver. In the high-speed scenario, the vehicle speed will generally reach above 100km/h, when the MACH TwinPower MHD hybrid system will adopt the direct engine drive mode.

In both the acceleration test and the braking test, we can feel that Haoji is doing its best to suppress the tire noise and wind noise outside the vehicle, so we can see that the vehicle has also made great efforts in the quietness. Especially when the vehicle speed is within 70km/h, the noise from the engine is almost inaudible inside the car, very quiet, and there is only negligible wind noise and tire noise, and with the support of the hybrid system, the Haoji has an NVH performance comparable to that of a pure electric car when driving at low and medium speeds.

Lastly

As the first SUV model of NISSAN Fengshen's new MACH Twin Engine MHD hybrid system, the Haoji has significantly improved compared to other models in the current product lineup, both in terms of interior and exterior design concept, workmanship selection, and intelligent configuration. For example, the Queen's Co-Driver and 2825mm wheelbase are rare in their class. Although there is still some performance we can't test in the current state of the test car, the Haoji has already left us a better impression, blind orders on the first day orders can break 10,000 is not an empty wind. After the new car is listed, it will also compete with Changan CS75 PLUS, Haval H6 and Geely Star Yue L. Let's wait and see if the new power system can win consumer recognition.
