On May 20, BYD released the CTB battery-body integration technology and the first e-Platform 3.0 model equipped with CTB technology - Seal. The Seal opened for pre-sale on the same day, with a pre-sale price of RMB 21.28-28.98 million. BYD Corsair is the world's first production vehicle equipped with CTB technology and the first model equipped with iTAC technology, rear-wheel-drive/four-wheel drive architecture, and front double wishbone.

CTB battery-body integration technology further merges the battery cover and body floor into one, evolving from the original battery pack "sandwich" structure to the "sandwich" structure of the whole vehicle. The power battery system is both an energy body and a structural component. This integration simplifies the body structure and production process and is a disruptive change to the traditional body design.

The structure of the CTB blade battery pack is inspired by the honeycomb aluminum structure. The blade cells themselves are so secure that adjacent cells can be closely aligned together. Rows of blade cells form a structure like a honeycomb core, forming a honeycomb-like structure through the top cover and bottom plate. This allows the structural strength of the CTB blade battery pack to break through and be able to pass the extreme test of being crushed by a 50-ton heavy truck without any problems.

As the first e-platform 3.0 model equipped with CTB technology, Corsair is a masterpiece of BYD in the field of advanced electric vehicle technology. Its elk test passes the speed of 83.5km/h, the single shift test passes the speed of 133km/h, and the maximum lateral stability acceleration is 1.05g, with excellent performance.

 

Thanks to the technical advantages of CTB, the Seal has a low-slung shape and low wind resistance of 0.219. The larger arrangement space allows the Seal to adopt the four-drive architecture of the front asynchronous motor + rear synchronous motor. The four-wheel-drive version of the Corsair accelerates to 3.8 seconds, and the power is just fierce and swift.

At the same time, the energy consumption of Corsair 4WD is as low as 12.7kWh per 100km, taking into account the multiple considerations of performance and energy consumption. In addition, the Corsair is equipped with an active air intake grille AGS as standard, which improves the waste heat utilization efficiency of the low-temperature heat pump system by 20% and improves the range for every kilometer for users.

In terms of charging, the high-voltage electric drive boost charging solution of e-Platform 3.0 can enhance the charging power through the high-voltage platform, making full use of the upper limit of the national standard current, realizing a wide range of constant power charging, with a range of more than 300 km in 15 minutes of charging; and it is fully compatible with all current public charging piles, providing a more suitable fast charging solution for Chinese consumers nowadays.
